![]() ![]() Afterwards Acey, Mumbles, my friend and I, all went for Sushi. watch Myka 9 record a verse that ultimately never showed up on Book of Human language. We got to listen to Acey record “walls and windows” amongst other songs. I can’t remember where the studio was exactly, burbank?, but when we got there, Acey was there, Myka 9 had just arrived. But we needed to drive up to LA from San Diego. They were recording an album strictly music by Mumbles. Flash forward a bit, I get a call from my boy, telling me Mumbles needed to borrow, a part of his keyboard. So did we!!! The two bonded, and mumbles started mentoring my partner a lil bit. Mumbles used an Ensonic EPS to make his beats. My partner caught wind of this and seeked him out. There was another low key hip hop guy going to UCSD, producer Mumbles. It was the summer of 96, my rap partner was going to UCSD, we were already the biggest freestyle fellowship fans. but I’ll offer a different story of why I’m such a fan boy of this record. Much has been said about this work of art, aceyalone the poetic syncopated machine gun saxophone and Mumbles the mad scientist combining samples from totally different records to make new originals.
